Indigenous Entrepreneurial Development Program Facilitator - Assisting inmate entrepreneurs in their business goals

Job Title: Indigenous Entrepreneurial Development Program Facilitator

Supervisor: Indigenous Inmate Project Management Team (PMT)

FT/PT Status: Full time contract

DESCRIPTION: The Indigenous Inmate Entrepreneurial Development Program Team is seeking a highly motivated individual to assist inmates creating business both while incarcerated and post incarceration.

The Facilitator is to make a process or action easier or smoother. It involves helping things along,

removing obstacles, and providing the support or resources needed to achieve the goals of the inmate

entrepreneurs.

The Facilitator requires to be in the institutions while meeting inmates, and travel in the Lower Mainland

for meetings and training. The candidate must have the ability to work with diverse age groups and

people. The Facilitator will be working with inmates by providing one-on-one assistance to inmates

wishing to start or expand their businesses.

The candidate should have a passion for helping others, excellent people, communication and

networking skills, possess empathy, have problem-solving skills, be self-motivated, patient, flexible and

creative, and have a positive and caring attitude toward the success of others. The candidate should

demonstrate private sector/small business experience. The successful candidate will be provided with

ongoing training and will work with a large Resource Board of committed and active community and

civic leaders.

DUTIES:

 Work to provide one-on-one business-related guidance and support new ideas, existing small

craft businesses and potentially businesses open post release

 Uphold and adhere to the policies and the directions of the organization

 Uphold and adhere to the client centered principles of Entrepreneurial Development ®

 Report regularly on operations and ensure that the PMT are informed, in confidence, of all

clients’ activities

 Develop a network of communications throughout the community and at government level as

needed

 Efficiently manage day-to-day operations of the Entrepreneurial Development project

 Establish and maintain an efficient record keeping system

 Provide a detailed report on activities carried out each month

 Conduct research for clients consistent with the aims and objectives of the project

 Represent the organization to other organizations, the media, and the public at large if asked to

do so

 Maintain the confidentiality of all sensitive information

 Perform all other duties that may be directed by the Project Management Team from time to

time in relation to the Entrepreneurial Development project

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 High School diploma or GED Required.

 Possess knowledge of entrepreneurship communities, economy, and culture.

 Personal business experience preferred.

 Computer proficiency and skills in business applications, Microsoft office and network

applications.

 Communicate effectively with inmates.

 Travel as required

DETAILS:

Position is Full-time. This is a remote position that you should be able to complete from your home

office working outside and, in the institutions, facilitating with inmate entrepreneurs. This is a salary

position to begin at the end of January / February 2025.
