The costs of this project are minimal compared to the benefits and that right now it is paramount for mining companies to create as many jobs outside the mining industry as inside since projects are short-term.

partnership

Collaboration is key to our success. We partner with local leaders, organizations, and successful trainees to deliver our services effectively and ensure that our impact is amplified through collective effort and shared expertise.

community-centric

Our approach is rooted in community collaboration and participation. We value the insights and aspirations of local communities, and that every community and member within it is unique and important. We recognize that their active involvement is crucial to the success of any economic development initiative.

inclusivity

We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone, regardless of background, has the opportunity to participate in and benefit from economic development. We champion diversity and strive to eliminate barriers to entrepreneurial success.

At SEF Canada, our core values underpin our mission to assist communities with identifying the development of sustainable economies through Entrepreneurial Development with outcomes that last far into the future and result in tangible benefits for everyone. WHAT WE DO

Our Entrepreneurial Development Program, or ED, is a community based economic development tool. The power of ED comes from a community’s willingness to support the dreams and aspirations of its citizens.

    1. We train local leaders, economic development practitioners and personnel involved in sustainable community development.

    2. We train the personnel of public/private agencies who are tasked to assist local entrepreneurs in the Universal Management Principles.

  • We develop entrepreneurial curricula for schools.

    1. We write and create white papers on the above subjects for publishing.

    2. We address conferences and seminars worldwide.

    3. We influence public policy on development and entrepreneurial education.

    4. We partner with organizations to deliver workshops.

I joined the SEF initiative when I saw that it was more than “pie-in-the sky” non-action. What made it right for me was that we actually gave the clients workable solutions

measuring impact

The multiplier effect is the boost to your local economy that results from locally-owned independent businesses, owners, and employees spending business revenue within the region.

Total economic impact is determined by measuring three components -- the direct, indirect, and induced impacts:

  1. Direct impact is spending done by a business in the local economy to operate the business, including inventory, utilities, equipment and pay to employees.

  2. Indirect impact refers to the conventional multiplier that happens as dollars the local business spends at other area businesses re-circulate.

  3. Induced impact refers to the additional consumer spending that happens as employees, business owners and others spend their income in the local economy.
