🌱 From Mining Project to Thriving Community
A few years ago, SEF Canada worked with the community in Cerro de San Pedro, Mexico. Our role: build capacity, and support residents in launching small businesses, making the community economically sustainable.
We’re proud to say that the knowledge stayed with the community. 💡 Even after our direct involvement ended, the people of Cerro de San Pedro continued to grow, innovate, and build a sustainable future on their own terms.
✨ The lasting impact:
• 104 award-winning businesses still in operation
• 70 innovative business ideas developed
• 2,705 people benefited
• Entrepreneurial programs for children, youth, and adults. Creating generational change
💬 As program facilitator Carolina Pérez Carrizal said:
“The program has promoted community growth through two strategic lines: strengthening the entrepreneurial environment and providing training on environmental issues… These coordinated actions are building a more adaptable, creative, and sustainability-oriented community.”
At SEF, this is what success looks like: when communities don’t need us anymore because they’re thriving on their own. 🌍
